Entec Wins TPi Award
Back to Headlines

Entec Sound won the 2006 Total Production International Award for ‘Favourite Sound Company’, beating stiff competition.

The Award was presented by Jayne Middlemiss at a star studded ceremony held at the Novotel West London, followed by a full on party night at the end of January. The TPi Awards honoured all the major production industry achievements of 2005.

Entec’s Award was collected by Entec’s head of Sound, Dick Hayes, who was delighted at the result. He says, “It’s one thing walking onstage during a gig for 60,000 people, but quite another collecting an award in front of fellow rental companies! I’d like to add my heartfelt thanks to all Entec’s staff and freelancers for their massive contribution towards this achievement - it wouldn’t have happened without their support. I have to admit that I was looking for Brian Grant or John Penn coming up & saying ‘sorry mate …. but it was a good wind-up!!!’

Entec's Dick Hayes
2005 saw Entec sound servicing a massive diversity of live acts including Alanis Morissette, the Bootleg Beatles, Katherine Jenkins, Amici, and The Saw Doctors.

The summer festival season again took off with audio equipment, engineers and crew supplied to Alton Towers, the increasingly popular Guilfest, Marlborough Jazz, Haywards Heath & Llanhydrock House festivals and the first and truly unique 10-day Koh Samui Music Festival in Thailand.

Numerous memorable one-off events included the 5-day Teenage Cancer Trust shows at the Royal Albert Hall and shows with Iggy Pop, Jimmy Carr, Skin and Mars Volta .. right the way along to The Wiggles & Potato Olympics, plus an assortment of corporate events.

The dry hire market was also busy throughout the year as Entec backed up many other d&b companies. Entec’s sound purchased its first d&b system in 1995 and was then appointed as a UK d&b sales partner, which has helped keep the order books buoyant, specially since the launch of d&b’s Q-Line array.

There is now there is the new full size d&b J Series line array to add to the wide selection of products to suit every event. Dick would also like to thank Simon, Oggi & everybody else @ d&b for their fantastic support.

This year has already kicked straight off with Bauhaus, The Bootleg Beatles, another stint at the Royal Albert Hall for the Teenage Cancer Trust, numerous London Fashion Week shows and a healthy selection of corporate events, with the rest of. 2006 looking good for Entec!!
