Entec Turns
up Heat for Bumper Weekend

Entec sound & Light sampled international
sounds and flavours from three continents
last weekend, servicing four different
events around the country as Britain
sizzled during the hottest weekend
for many years!
Ascot Live

For
the latest Ascot race meeting,
Entec supplied the Ascot Live
after-race live entertainment
with a sound and lighting system,
for two days of performances headlined
by the James Taylor Quartet and
the Human League. It's the fourth
year Entec has supplied the technical
infrastructure for this event
to production company Make It
Happen Productions led by Louise
Burton.

The sound system featured
a flown d&b C4/B2 speaker system,
with Entec APW monitors, d&b C7 side
fills and two Midas XL3 consoles with
stretches at both FOH and monitors.
FOH engineer was Marc Langley and
John Roden mixed monitors.
Lighting consisted of
six MAC 250s, a selection of generics
and an Avolites Pearl, run by Steve
Major.

Southwark Park
Gala
Across the other side of London,
9 Below Zero and Chas & Dave
headlined this well attended
2-day Southwark Council event
staged in Southwark Park, London
SE16.
Audio was a d&b C4/B2 system,
complete with Midas XL200 at
FOH and a Soundcraft SM16 onstage,
plus an Entec APW monitor system.
It was engineered by Donnard
Duffy (FOH) and Stuart Turville
on monitors. Entec also supplied
lighting for the main stage,
and smaller sound systems for
two other band stages around
the site.

Toast New Zealand,
Syon Park, Isleworth
This popular food, wine and
cultural event attracted vast
crowds and featured performers
from New Zealand including Ryan
Edwards & Fat Freddie's Drop,
who played the main stage, using
a d&b C7 sound system and Entec
APW monitors. Both FOH sound
and monitors were run off a
Soundcraft SM12 desk located
side stage, mixed by Julian
Chabert.

For the
Street Theatre stage, Entec supplied
d&b Max speakers and a Soundcraft Folio
desk. Additionally, in the VIP marquee,
a d&b E3 speech system was used by Helen
Clark, New Zealand premier and minister
for Arts, Culture & Heritage .. among
other speechmakers.

Catering
Africa, Esher Rugby Club
Down the road in Hersham,
Surrey, this event took the format
of a beer and culture festival featuring
cuisine and alcohol from the African
continent. Starring African-Irish
showband the Balarney Brothers on
the main stage, there were also plenty
of side events and stalls. Sound was
delivered through a d&b C4 system
with B2 subs, driven with a Yamaha
02R 96 digital console, engineered
by Nigel Waterfall and Julian Lodge.

Whilst all that was
going on, Entec Sound is also on the
road with King Crimson and Alanis
Morrissette in Europe, supplying monitors,
control and technicians for both tours.
Around the UK, they are gigging with
the Bootleg Beatles as well as supplying
various elements to Blur's ongoing
world tour - currently in USA.
